A couple of days ago I was thinking to myself that my blog must be about a year old, so I went back to the first month, September 2008, and lo and behold, I was only 2 days off. Turns out my first blog post was September 16, 2008. So, this will be the anniversary post - the first anniversary! Pretty cool.
My posts have lurched along, some of them coming more frequently than others. This summer has been especially slow, but that is only a reflection of what usually happens to me in the summer -- less fiber, more golf. I have to say that my golf game has improved somewhat, thanks to joining a golf league for the first time this year. But the fiber projects, although going, are really going slowly. ; )
Pictured here on the lovely Stella - the second of my two soysilk yarn scarves, now off the 12 harness table loom, washed, pressed, and fringes twisted. It was in September of 2008 that I photographed the group of soysilk yarn dye experiments in preparation for a twill scarf project on the Dorothy. The weaving was pretty slow going. I had lots of distractions and took whole months off, but here at long last is the second scarf. Haven't measured it yet. Pretty sure I will put it on Etsy pretty soon.
The studio needed some cleaning and paring down. Huge piles all over the floor. Had to get things up and out. The upshot of this is I have started to list most of my old Weaver's Journal magazines for sale on Etsy. These are classics, with articles written by some of the best weaving teachers from the 70s and 80s. Check it out!
