Wool Shawl

Wool shawl warp wound

I wound the warp on Tuesday evening, and it went fine, if a little slow. But I'm used to slow, because I wind all my chenille warps the same way and chenille is pretty texturey (maybe not a word, but it fits). I don't have any more photos, but since then I tied to the front warp rod and wove a rag header. I chose the light blue alpaca and the medium blue fuzzy mohair for wefts. I will alternate between them randomly in plain weave.

The best part? I only broke one warp end during the winding. So I've got a repair yarn hanging off the back beam and weighted.

Breaking only one thread during warping with a fuzzy yarn is great. I always manage to break a couple when using fuzzy yarn. Colors are very pretty.
