What I Did on My Spring Break

The handpainted yarn stash was getting very depleted, so I took so time off and when I wasn't thrift shopping with my older daughter, I was winding yarn and handpainting it.






















You got your handpainted 10/2 tencel, and your handpainted 10/2 bamboo, and your handpainted 6 ply rayon, and your handpainted 8/2 cotton. All in what I call Tulips. On etsy. whew. That's what happens when you mix up four half-liter batches of dye. You gotta use it up.

This is my third pair of "first socks". I keep knitting worsted weight socks on two size 5 circular needles, and I have to move on. I've pretty much got this one down, so my next project is a pair of socks in fingering weight wool on size 2 circular needles. I got a knitted sock blank from Knit Picks, painted it with Prochem One Shot Dyes (would have done Procion, but there is nylon in this yarn, and acid dyes do both wool and nylon, thus a better fit).
